1. Our approach to refunds
We keep our refund policy simple and transparent. Every booking on Near Haramain has a cancellation policy attached to it, and that policy is shown to you clearly before you pay. There are no hidden clauses or surprise fees.
Our refund policy is binary: if you cancel a free-cancellation booking before the deadline, you get a full refund. If you cancel after the deadline or have a non-refundable booking, no refund is available. There are no partial refund tiers or percentage deductions.
2. Free cancellation bookings
Many hotels offer rates with free cancellation. If your booking includes free cancellation, here is how it works:
- The free cancellation deadline is shown on the booking page before you pay and is included in your confirmation email.
- If you cancel before the deadline, you receive a full refund of the amount you paid. No fees, no deductions.
- Once the free cancellation deadline passes, the booking becomes non-refundable. After that point, no refund is available.
- All cancellation deadlines are displayed in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Please account for the time zone difference when planning your cancellation. Saudi Arabia is UTC+3.
Cancel before the deadline = full refund. No questions asked.
3. Non-refundable bookings
Non-refundable rates are typically cheaper because they cannot be cancelled once booked. They are clearly labelled as "non-refundable" on the booking page before you pay.
Once you confirm a non-refundable booking, no refund is available regardless of the reason — including changes to your travel plans, visa issues, illness, or any other circumstance. We strongly recommend making sure your travel dates are confirmed before choosing a non-refundable rate.
Non-refundable means no refund once booked. Make sure you are certain before confirming.
4. How refunds are processed
When a refund is due, here is what happens:
- The refund is processed to the same card you used to pay. You do not need to provide any additional payment details.
- Refunds are processed via Stripe and typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank. Some banks may take longer.
- The refund amount matches exactly what you paid to us. We do not deduct any fees, processing charges, or administrative costs from refunds.
- You will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated.
If your refund has not appeared after 10 business days, please check with your bank first. If it still has not arrived, contact us and we will investigate with Stripe.
5. Partial stays and no-shows
Our refund policy is binary — there are no partial refunds:
- Early check-out — if you leave the hotel before your scheduled check-out date, no refund is given for the unused nights.
- No-show — if you do not arrive at the hotel, the full booking amount is forfeited. The hotel may also cancel the remainder of your reservation.
- Late arrival — if you arrive later than expected, contact the hotel directly to let them know. Unarrived guests may have their booking cancelled after the hotel's no-show deadline.
If something exceptional prevented you from travelling (e.g. a medical emergency), we suggest contacting the hotel directly to discuss your situation. We can help facilitate that communication, but the decision rests with the hotel.
6. Price changes
Hotel prices can change frequently due to demand and availability. Here is how we handle price changes:
- The price you see during search is indicative. Before you pay, we run a final price check (the "prebook" step) to confirm the exact amount with the hotel supplier.
- If the price has increased since your search, we will clearly show you the new price and ask you to confirm before proceeding. You are never charged more than the price you explicitly confirm.
- If the price has decreased, you get the lower price.
- Once your booking is confirmed and payment is captured, the price is locked. It will not change after that point.
7. How to cancel
Cancelling is straightforward:
- Go to My Bookings on our website.
- Enter your booking reference and access token (both are in your confirmation email).
- Click "Cancel Booking".
- Before the cancellation goes through, you will see clearly whether a refund applies and how much you will get back.
- Confirm the cancellation. Nothing happens until you confirm.
You can also request a cancellation by emailing us at info@nearharamain.com with your booking reference. However, we recommend using the self-service option as it is faster and shows you the refund status immediately.
8. Non-included taxes
Some bookings have taxes or fees that are payable directly at the hotel, such as city tax, tourism tax, or service charges. These are collected by the hotel at check-in or check-out and are separate from what you pay us.
Taxes paid directly to the hotel cannot be refunded by us, as we never collected them. Any dispute about hotel-collected taxes should be raised with the hotel directly.
9. Contact for refund queries
